Commissions

Parks Canada Triptych

Three panels  commissioned for the Parks Canada Field Office on Saturna represent three ecosystems: Rocky Shore, Bluffs, and Stream. The textile panels are each 28”x 60” featuring techniques of silk painting and fabric collage. The three layers of each piece are then machine quilted.

Panel 1

Represents the bluffs on Mt. Warburton Pike which depicts grasslands and the Garry Oak ecosystem.

Panel 2

Depicts the stream and Cedar forest areas of Lyall Creek and Waterfall Park.

Panel 3

Represents the inter-tidal zone/arbutus forest at Winter Cove.

Hand painted silk and Pima cotton and commercial fabrics were used. Machine embroidery highlights the collage and quilting techniques used.
